Three boys, one dog, one chinchilla…Sometimes, you just have to STOP…and Count To Ten.

Calling all Santas out there….have you started your “stocking stash” yet?  Do you have any idea what you plan on putting in the kids stockings this year?

I have a few staples that we do every year:

  • deodorant
  • toothbrushes
  • toothpaste
  • favorite candy (to go with the new toothbrushes)
  • socks
  • gloves
  • razors
Here’s what my stash looks like.  I have a laundry basket hidden in the laundry room (because the kids NEVER go in there), and as I find items on sale like a safety razor or other toiletries, I buy them and throw them in the basket.
As I’ve been looking for goodies for the stockings, this was the FIRST year that Eli is getting deodorant in his stocking.  As a tween (almost as stinky as a teen), he needs to start wearing deodorant, but…what kind do you buy a young man??  I couldn’t buy him the stuff that Chris wears.  (I smell that boy the minute he walks into the house–the  deodorant smell, not the arm pit smell).
We’ve been shopping and eating more heathy and natural…so, I decided to check out the “natural” deodorant options at Walmart.
Have you really LOOKED at all your deodorant choices at Walmart?  Seriously, it’s like the WHOLE aisle long.  I only had a few “natural” options to choose from, so after reading the ingredients on them and smelling
them, I choose to try the pink bottle of Crystal Body Deodorant Roll-On.
Now that I’ve shopped for ALMOST all my stockings…do you want to see what we do every year in our house??  We buy the cheap stockings and glitter glue pens and decorate our own stockings. (you can get this stuff at Walmart or even your dollar store)
You can get fancy and get more crafty….glitter, buttons, foam cut outs…just GO crazy!  It’s a great way to spend time with the kids…and they totally adore their finished projects (NOT to mention this is a VERY thrifty way to get stockings for everyone)
Just look at him working so hard!
Can you tell who this is on Isaac’s stocking??
(it’s Brobee from YoGabbaGabba)
Eli’s finished creation.  Ok…yes, it says, “I like pie”…it’s just something silly that he always says.  BUT…he did put a few presents on it also.  It really doesn’t matter what the kids put on their stockings…it’s just a really fun activity for them.
NOW…I can’t show you the stockings STUFFED yet (because Eli still believes in Santa Clause)!!!!
BUT… you can be sure that it will be full of all the things above.  He’ll be snacking good, brushing his teeth afterwards, and smelling good.  What MORE could you ask for??
