Healthy Snack Ideas for MY Wimpy Kids! #Snacks4WimpyKid #CBias
My hubby is OUT OF TOWN for a few days….and the kids and I do play! We don’t adhere to bedtimes, we stay in our jammies all day, and we watch movies. SO, Eli and I decided to take a quick trip to Walmart to snag a movie to watch and a few snacks.
(yes…he’s holding up the Walmart sign with his OH SO BIG muscles)
While cruising the aisles, and my repeated “NO you can’t have that”, we come to the fruit aisle. AHHHH….as if a choir were singing behind me…Del Monte fruit cups. FINALLY, a snack that ALL the boys love to eat, that’s JUST the right portion, and I don’t have to peel, cut, dice or wash!
Now, don’t get me wrong. I love a bowl of freshly prepared fruit like the rest of you…BUT, I do have three kids, a trip to pack for, and a BAZILLION other things to do this week. With Joe out of town, THIS is the perfect healthy snack option for me and the kids (and one that we all agree on). I love the pears, Eli loves the peaches with Cinnamon and brown sugar, and Chris loves the regular mix of fruit. (and, these will be PERFECT to take on our road trip later this week!)
Now…with the snacks in the cart…we’re off to hunt for movies and get back to the house!
Once we get back home, the boys start drawing pictures of themselves (and my hubby and I) in true “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” style!
Seriously, how often does a 17 year old sit down with his 10 year old brother AND actually do an activity together??
And…here’s their finished projects!
Ok, we didn’t have a recent FULL family pic to show you what we look like FOR REAL…but, all these ridiculous shots are what my crazy boys look like. I think they did a great job on their drawings!
oh, I forgot to add Chris’ picture.
(yes, that would be the self portrait of a 17 year old, hat wearing, ready to go off to college kiddo! I’m not sure why he’s wearing a skirt, I’ll have to ask him about that one!)
OK…we’ve had a fun “forced family night” activity, it’s time to open our fruit cup snacks and get our movie started! If you haven’t figured it out yet…we’re watching the FIRST “Diary of a Wimpy Kid.” The kids have read all the books and they’re anxiously awaiting the next movie to be released.
If you LOVE Diary of a Wimpy Kid, be on the lookout for a FABULOUS contest on Del Monte’s Facebook Page. You’ll be able to draw picture like we did and enter them in a contest to win MOST awesome prizes!

Love that you were able to get a 17 year old to participate! And how cute is that photo of your son holding up the Walmart sign??
Looks like everyone had a great time
Cute pictures. I love your family’s sense of humor!
What a strong boy! And, it’s not a skirt, it’s a kilt! The drawings turned out awesome(:
These pics are so great! What a fun time!
It’s great that you’re able to get your 17 yr old to take part! I tried to get my 16 yr old daughter to draw too but she just wasn’t in to it! She did help out her 12 yr old sister with her drawing though … so I guess she took part… sort of!
